Description
Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), is a blood test that helps assess inherited risk for heart disease, stroke, and vascular conditions. Elevated Lp(a) levels can increase artery plaque buildup even when standard cholesterol levels are normal. Fasting is not required for this test.
